Lipstick vs. Lip Tint vs. Lip Glaze: What’s the Difference?
Lipstick vs. Lip Tint vs. Lip Glaze: What’s the Difference?
In everyday beauty terminology, these products differ primarily in texture, longevity, and ease of application.
- Lipstick: A solid, creamy texture. It offers low to medium longevity and is the easiest for beginners to apply.
- Lip Mud / Lip Tint: A liquid or mousse-like texture. It provides medium to extremely high longevity but requires more blending technique.
- Lip Glaze / Lip Gloss: A watery or high-shine texture. It offers high longevity but can be slightly more challenging to master for a perfect finish.
Which lip product is best for beginners?
Which lip product is best for beginners?
For makeup beginners, we recommend starting with Lipstick. Its solid, balmy texture provides better control, allowing you to outline your lip shape intuitively. Even if you apply it outside the lines, it is much easier to correct than liquid formulas. Lipsticks typically offer a balanced, medium-coverage finish that is perfect for everyday wear, helping beginners build confidence in their makeup routine.

Not Sure Which Shade Suits You? Start Here
Finding your signature lip color starts with understanding your skin's undertone (Cool, Warm, or Neutral). Matching your lipstick to your undertone will instantly brighten your complexion.
Step 1: The Quick Test
Observe the color of the veins on the inside of your wrist:
- Blue or Purple veins $\rightarrow$ You have a Cool Undertone.
- Green or Olive veins $\rightarrow$ You have a Warm Undertone.
- A mix of both or hard to tell $\rightarrow$ You have a Neutral Undertone.
Step 2: Match Your Shade
- For Cool Undertones: Pinks & PlumsWe recommend shades with rosy or berry bases. Look for Deep Berries, Rosy Pinks, and Cool-toned Crimsons.
- For Warm Undertones: Red & CoralWe recommend shades with golden or orange bases. Look for Sunset Oranges, Warm Terracottas, and Golden Reds.
- For Neutral Undertones: Neutral & MauveYou are in luck! Most colors will suit you perfectly. We especially suggest Dusty Roses, Soft Nudes, and Muted Earth Tones.
Pro Tip: While digital swatches are a great guide, the most accurate way to find your "holy grail" shade is to try it on your lips. Lighting and your natural lip pigment can make every color look unique!
